ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:

The Traveling HR Generalist will manage the HR function of Diversicare centers that have a need for additional HR support including but not limited to recruiting, payroll, record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. This position will provide remote support, as well as onsite support, which will require travel to the assigned center. Travel requirements will vary depending on need, up to 50%.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supports assigned facility or facilities by managing the HR function until the vacant HR Coordinator position is filled. Travel to the assigned facility will be required at times.

  2. Facilitates an open door policy and appropriately directs team member relations issues to the Administrator, Director of Nursing Services, Sr. Director of Human Resources and/or Regional Vice President.

  3. Conducts recruitment effort for designated positions within centers, including the complete recruitment life cycle from postings, placing advertisement, sourcing, scheduling interviews, and coordinating the drug screen. Serves as the primary liaison from the center to local schools and organizations to foster applicant flow and potential candidates.

  4. Act as the subject matter expert on company HR, Benefits and Payroll policies and procedures.

  5. Ensure adherence with all onboarding forms and processes, including completion of Forms I-9 and E-verify process, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files. Submits online investigation requests, new-employee background checks, and reference checks.

  6. Facilitates engaging on-boarding process, including pre-hire paperwork and new team member orientations.

  7. Processes and maintains payroll records bi-weekly; including working with assigned facilities’ leadership to correct missed punches prior to payroll.

  8. Processes required documents through HRIS (UltiPro) to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions, including new hire information, payroll changes, and terminations.

  9. Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.

  10. Conducts onsite audit of assigned centers’ HR processes, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including HR postings and personnel file compliance.

  11. Ensures various human resource policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to.

  12. Ensures adherence to the center wage scale.

  13. Assists with implementation of recruitment and engagement plans.

  14. Acts as Center liaison to Loss Prevention with workers compensation injury process.

  15. Administers and coordinates documentation for all leaves of absence, including FMLA and associated documents.

  16. Partners with assigned centers’ Workforce Manager to forecast and timely recruit for open positions.

  17. Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or five years’ direct human resources experience.

  2. Human Resources certification preferred.

  3. Knowledge of timekeeping software and hardware programs and processing preferred.

  4. Proficiency with Microsoft products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required.

  6. Ability to conduct training for team members required.

  7. Experience with HRIS platform required, UKG/Dimensions preferred.

  8. Experience with ATS platform required, iCIMS preferred
