We are looking for an early career natural resources professional to support our business growth for clients in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic US. You’ll have the opportunity to perform both field and office work and engage with our team’s recognized experts in characterizing, evaluating, and minimizing proposed projects’ effects on natural resources. Our projects include siting, permitting, construction, and maintenance projects. Your work could include baseline rare plant surveys, wetland delineations, habitat characterization, or protocol wildlife species surveys as appropriate to your background and interests. You will have the opportunity to work on environmental compliance, permitting and impact assessment, and restoration and mitigation planning projects and will include approximately 50% to 75% field work. You’ll be challenged as you support multiple projects across sectors. Your growth and increase in responsibility will be recognized and rewarded with commensurate changes in level and compensation.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or similar discipline.

  • One to two years’ wetland delineation experience and performing habitats assessments for special status species and wetlands.

  • Experience performing desktop surveys to determine need for permits and potential for presence of special status species.

  • Technical writing skills and experience preparing Permits Compliance Documents and Technical Reports.

  • Experience interacting with state and federal agencies to coordinate information required for permit review.

  • Ability to travel or be in the field an estimated 50%-75% of the time and occasional work in rough terrain and challenging weather conditions. Field work will be predominantly in the northeast, but opportunities exist across the US.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification or documentation of progress towards acquiring the PWS certification.

  • Experience working with FERC, PADEP, NJDEP, NYSDEC or USFWS.
