Palo Alto Veterans Institute for Research Clinical Research Consultant - Curriculum Developer in Palo Alto, California

Palo Alto Veterans Institute for Research (PAVIR) supports the nation's second largest research program conducted among the VA Hospitals and is looking for a part-timeClinical Research Consultant.The Consultant will have a strong interest in both radiology and medical education who want to help develop a curriculum in Radiology, Sustainability, and Climate Change for radiology trainees. This is a project funded by RSNA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helping to create and organize a library of resources (relevant publications, digital books and websites) for all to reference;
  • Researching and helping to draft Powerpoint slides for our sessions based on a few topics;
    • Examples of topics include life cycle analysis, energy consumption in radiology, CT and MRI contrast effects on the environment, and others;
  • Helping us analyze post-curriculum surveys in Qualtrics of faculty and current radiology trainees, compared to the results of a pre-curriculum survey;
  • Develop case studies with relevant radiology imaging, working one on one with attending radiologists who have already volunteered their time;
  • Co-author abstracts and manuscripts for submission, along with preparing the educational curriculum for online distribution to other academic radiology programs;
  • Other assignments as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
  • 4+ years of research experience (undergraduate experience included);
  • Preferred:Advanced degree (MS/MA or Ph.D.);
  • 10+ years of experience and awareness of Veteran culture;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, while also able to work independently, under minimal supervision;
  • Effective time management skills, including ability to develop/follow timelines and complete multiple projects;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both with clients and internal staff.
