Universal Health Services DRIVER in SAN ANTONIO, Texas

Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE : To transport child, adolescents, and adults (ages 4 - 99) with direct supervision and to always obey all traffic laws.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • All drivers will be certified and completed the Transportation Orientation and training.

  • Maintain an amount of order that allows for safe operation of the vehicle without distractions.

  • Insure that everyone in the vehicle is wearing a seatbelt whenever the vehicle is in operation.

  • Do not operate the vehicle unless everyone is belted in.

  • Pay attention to the road and any unusual conditions.

  • Operate the vehicle in a way to insure the highest degree of safety.

  • Obey all traffic laws.

  • Patient safety and direct supervision is the number one priority.

  • Report all behavioral problems and sexual issues to Transportation Coordinator.

  • Report any problems or concerns on vehicles.

  • Take steps to prevent accidents.

  • Be on time to work and all physician appointments.

  • At all times, staff shall respect the rights of the patient.

  • Will follow dress code of Healthcare America and Transportation Department.

  • Laurel Ridge cell phone is on at all times.

  • When picking up or dropping off patients, the first patient that you pick up, as well as the last patient that you drop off is the same gender as the driver.

    Qualifications

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Current Texas driver's license; good verbal and written skills; high school graduate or equivalent; must be 21 years of age; ability to drive a 15 passenger van and car. CPR certification. Knowledge of the City.

    EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent.

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Texas driver's license.

    EXPERIENCE: One year of experience as a Mental Health Worker preferred with adolescents (ages 12-18) or child or adult.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

    • 80% - 90% of the time, the incumbent is standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching while working with the patient/residents.

    • Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patient/residents.

    • Ability to perform CPR.

    • Ability to work split shifts.

    • Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions.

    • Vision and hearing sufficient to perform essential functions.

    • Ability to drive a vehicle.

    • Ability to speak and write.
