BAE Systems Sr. Principal Weld Engineer - Weapons Systems Lead in York, Pennsylvania
Job Description
The Combat Mission Systems business unit within BAE Systems, Inc is searching for a Weld Engineering Lead to support Weapons Systems production at multiple facilities in the United States.
In this role the Weld Engineering Lead will:
Assess and influence contractual requirements and specifications; facilitate process/procedure updates to align with requirements
Manage the development and implementation of Procedure Qualifications and Weld Procedure Specifications
Provide proposals and justification for budgets, staffing, and capital investments
Interface with Program and Technical customers to resolve complex fabrication issues
Support Process Improvement initiatives related to Welding and Fabrication of Aluminum and Steel products

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering with a minimum 10 years of engineering experience; demonstrated performance in a technical leadership role
Demonstrated capability to lead an engineering team in a manufacturing environment
Experience developing and executing Fabrication, Welding, and Inspection/Acceptance requirements
Experience interfacing with Customers and External Stakeholders
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Certification and experience working as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector a plus;
Experience working with a DoD or other U.S. Government customer preferred;
Proficient in AutoDesk/AutoCAD beneficial;
Proficient in ProE/Wildfire software helpful.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
